Film noir style illustrations

Illustrations and art direction are needed, to give depth and dimension to the story, character and music for an independent, multi-platform project based on the theme of the seven deadly sins. This project already has an excellent fiction writer and one of the best lyricists in the rap world on board. The story and the songwriting are in process.

The novella length story will feature full page illustrations in a realistic, but gritty noir style. At the same time, the project's creator hopes, in the future, to move into an expanded universe for this character with possible graphic novels and/or animated films.

The story we’re currently working on will be about 50 pages, and we would like to include the most important scenes, as well as all characters, as illustrations within the book. Dark . . . thinking of a contemporary, realistic interpretation of film noir. . . the setting is a fictional, universal ‘sin city’ more Gotham than Las Vegas, we have a description and a ‘map’ -- you’ll be creating the ‘look’. Of course we need character design for most or all characters within the story.

The project (CD/story/etc) is exploring the idea that it is a fine line between controlling our vices and our vices controlling us.

Certainly there are as many ways to visualize such a story as there are creative brains out there . . . so if this starts your brain to buzzing, here's what we'd like from you:

~ an email to Martin -- em_cee@gmx.ch (cc: zebraxing@zografis.com) telling briefly why you'd be interested in the project and what your concept would be

~ links to especially relevant samples of your work

~ an idea of how much time you have to devote to the project in the next 3-5 months

~ an idea of your fee scale for black and white and color illustrations (payments to be made via PayPal) http://bit.ly/cBBNip
