Copywriter

Summary:

Goddard Claussen is seeking a talented and creative copywriter to join our team. The copywriter will work collaboratively with the creative and account departments to develop and produce effective advertisements. We are looking for a team player whose writing style is versatile enough to capture humor when appropriate, break down complex, technical jargon into easy to understand, concise messaging or even streamline pages of information into catchphrases or tag lines. The right applicant for this position will have a passion for reading and understanding research and turning that data into clear, concise and creative messaging.



Responsibilities:

-Responsible for copywriting of advocacy and ballot measure campaigns and various agency projects including but not limited to print ads; posters; press releases; leaflets; brochures; radio or television scripts; web/digital and responses to RFP’s.

-Work closely with the creative and account teams to align copy with concepts, research and goals

-Participate in creative sessions and share ideas, concepts, slogans, catchphrases and tag lines

-Work with the account team to craft messaging that is reflective of the clients’ goals and research testing

-Actively participate in creative briefs, take notes, be organized and educate yourself on the client

Experience:

-3-5 years experience in a copywriting field, preferably in advocacy or ballot initiatives

-A stellar portfolio that demonstrates creativity, versatility, and integrity of writing skills
